Group Art Show Opening Reception Friday, April 14 6-9pm
The exhibition at the Radius Gallery is the work of the following five artist:
Norbert Clyde Martinez Jr.
These diverse and provoking artists come together to explore the role of perception and the innovative use of materials to create a meaningful experience.
James Raska is a shape-shifting artist whose work is, by turns, delicate and muscular, reticent and declarative. It is not so much the cutting edge as the knife that cuts the edge. Whatever his mood or mode, his beautiful work is always deeply considered and felt.
My subjects are an assortment of found, used and unwanted secondhand toys. Many of them show signs of rough or violent handling, often missing limbs-pulled, cut, or bitten off-and others are worn so gently that it is clear that they were lovingly handled over a period of many years.
